Exhibition
Ode to my Body - Tiny Room, Glasgow, UK - 2019

Ode to my body was inspired in a winter trip in 2017 to Sarmizegetusa Regia and the serendipity contact with its guardian, Vladimir Brilinsky. After a storm in 2013, the activist found an ancient bronze matrix from two thousands years ago under the roots of a fallen tree revealing new details of the Dacian civilisation. Ode to my body explores memory when it is attached to an object. An archeological encounter of an immaterial body.
Ode to my body’s set suggests a stylised depiction of the Dacian city with blocks of ice that resemble its nowadays landmarks. Over the course of the installation, human sized structures of clear ice are suspended on air and exposed to room temperature, while the harmonized sound of its drops reveals the untold story of a frozen object by triggering dreamy visuals and voice recordings creating a new sonic and visual environment for a body in permanent metamorphosis.
